Silbrios
Meaning "Forest of the Stars," the Silbrios was discovered by the Larenai Elves on a night when a multitude of shooting stars filled the sky. This heavenly display the Elven host took as a sign of destiny and decided that the dark forest they saw stretched out before them would become their long sought-after home. They called that night Ty Sillaür, the "Great Starfall," and they honor the day with a feast every year, thanking the Bright Lady for her guidance. The Larenai, led by Vistari Khajira and the leaders of the thirteen most powerful houses, entered the forest and drove out the Nohr and other fell creatures that were entrenched there. The forest was then divided into political regions amongst the thirteen most powerful houses. Each house's dominion can be seen on the map. The Seranimesti House annexed the adjacent Melalor lands when that house fell in shame. The royal family, the Khajira House, lives and reigns in Kartalon, the "Place of the Crown," the only real city in the Silbrios. Other settlements that might be considered cities are those areas where buildings and people have clustered about the rich estates of the noble houses. Kartalon, however, is a city apart, and only Noriveä compares to its beauty. It is a city of graceful Elven architecture, towering spires, and wide avenues. But the most remarkable sight one would see in Kartalon is the waterfall that falls on either side of the palace grounds, dividing the city in two. The palace is built at the bottom of the cliff face, and in the mist of the falls grows the distinctly Larenai fruit Silaster, "Starblossom." It is closest to the fruit Men call the apple. The Silbrios is ruled by Kelvirith, the Alyn Inarmiros. He is the "Eternal King," for his mother was faerie, and her blood makes him impervious to the ravages of old age.
