Sea of Stars
The Sea of Stars may be an appellation appropriate to any of the seas surrounding Chronikos, for if one sails far enough in any directions, one will soon see the most amazing sight: starlight coming up through the water below the ship. As the seas stretch away from land, and as the leagues fall away, the ocean in time becomes more and more shallow. This trend continues until the sea depth becomes so shallow that one can see the light from the stars shining in the Deep of the Odarim. Land has fallen away, and all that remains is a shallow strip of seawater separating the intrepid crew of the ship from the inhospitable environment of Deep Space and certain and instant destruction. Talmai, a great sailor and Prince of the Larenai, was the first to sail his ship, the Starblossom, into the uncharted waters of the Outer Seas (until then, travel by ship had been, and to a point still is, limited to the confines of the Aras Arlluvia). After Talmai passed the Passage Perilous, he ventured far out into the open sea, where, one night, he had gone so far as to see stars twinkling through the bottom of the sea. He thus named the sea on which he sailed the Sea of Stars.
