Noriveä

Noriveä is a city of Men reborn. In Elven, they call themselves the Lorsei. As refugees from the east, the ancestors of the Men of Noriveä fled the fall of Nirrion. Led by a prince called Tuvin, these Men became the first humans to make contact with Elves. And the Larenai Elves, specifically the rangers of the Vepalé House, were the first Elves to see Men. Unlike other refugee groups such as those led by Fihdal and Vadal, which went on to found powerful human kingdoms, the Ithacul thought it wise to ally themselves with the Elves and learn from their wisdom. The Vepalé welcomed them onto their lands, and Kelvirith, at that time just installed on the throne, accepted the Ithacul's fealty but knew it would go ill for the Men's descendants if the Ithacul were not given a measure of independence. So began a joint constructive labor that resulted in the beautiful city of Noriveä. Unlike any city on Chronikos, Noriveä is a blend of grand, dominating Nirrion architecture and the grace with which the Elves build their spires. The best example of this juxtaposition of styles is the White Tower which stands in the center of the city. It is a grandiose monument, quite intimidating, and yet it displays an obvious Elven touch in its elegance that keeps it from being overpowering. The White Tower holds Ildres, Aliëna's hallowed circlet and relic of the Order of Chiel. The tower guard are elite holy warriors who are trained secretly by the Elves and priests.
