Kaleni

Kaleni is the principal city of the Vadal people. Founded by Vadal, brother of Fihdal, after their split, Kaleni has quickly grown to become the greatest mining city on Chronikos. The western foothills of the Mountains of Separation are rich with gold, and combined with support from some of the most fertile farmland in the West, Kaleni is a prosperous city indeed. Like their southern cousins in Blitendale, the Vadal King commands an impressive army. They are more warlike than their southern neighbors, and more than any other army, they employ the services of priests of Alaxton, making them a fearsome opponent. There is a peace full of tension between Kaleni and Blitendale, since their divisive history still breeds ill feeling to this day. But never have they gone to open war, not since the establishment of their respective governments. The first Vadal kings and Fihdal kings did have skirmishes over border demarcations, and surely such conflicts would have led to full-scale war had not the priests of Alaxton, Chiel, and Jehiel stepped in a mediated affairs. One of the two Major Temples of Alaxton is situated prominently in the center of Kaleni, not far from the palace. Although it has seen little military use, the navy of Kaleni is quite impressive, though it is nothing compared to the Kartalon's Royal Fleet.
