Isle of Ice

The Isle of Ice is a large, unremarkable island in the North Sea. A few Tuhlen tribes live there, but their speech is sundered from their kinsmen on the main continent of Chronikos. It was to these Men that Wilas, the god of Winter and the Northlands, revealed himself. By his guidance they built Ice Deep Fortress, the only temple of Wilas on Chronikos. It is a huge tower made of black volcanic rock, and it stands 7 storeys high. At its base, the tower is roughly 150 feet in diameter, and its peak is crowned in ice that never melts. Summers are cool and pleasant on the Isle, and winters are brutally cold, when first the heavy snows fall, and then the ice settles over the land and does not thaw until late spring. During this time, the Tuhlen migrate closer to Ice Deep, where there is a plentiful amount of food that has been stored up through the summer months. Few leave the Isle, for Wilas, through his priests, protects and watches over his people. The people live in relative safety, free from the troubles with Nohr that the Elves and Men of the continent must face. However, there is one place the tribal movements of the Tuhlen do not take them: the northern reaches of the Isle, for it is there that legends warn of the Skvultmodhei, the Greater Giant, called Ruikral. Tales name Ruikral as the father of the Nohr.
