Halchek

Halchek is the principal city of the Tamari Elves. They have scattered villages throughout the Dylak Thana (though most are along the northern border), but the only fortified city is Halchek. Built on the southern shore of Everspring, Halchek's climate is mild, considering its location. The city was built by Ellon Tamar, first king of the Tamari, and since he was a successful soldier, Halchek was built to be the most defensible city. Its walls are high and thick, with many guard towers. It is rumored that there are secret tunnels under the city to allow people to flee, though the wise say if such tunnels exist, they would have most likely been intended for surprise attacks. Ellon Tamar would never run from a fight. Though not as beautiful and elegant as Kartalon, Halchek is the jewel of cities in the west. It is built on pragmatic principles and does not flaunt the ostentation that apparently serves no function beyond aweing visitors.
