Eyries

The Eyries are the northern mountains comprising what the Men of Nirrion call the Western Gates. They are so named in honor of the Giant Eagles that make their home there. In ancient times, before Nirrion's fall, the Eagles were the allies of Men and aided them in battle against the Nohr of the south. But now the old allegiance is forgot, and if the Men of Nirrion have any contact with these great birds, it is but to hunt them. Over time, the Eagles of the Eyries and the Men of Nirrion have grown to become great enemies. The Men fear and hate these noble creatures, and the Eagles will attack any man who dares trespass on their territory.
