Bloodwood
The Bloodwood is a dark forest of warped trees and evil enchantments. No one knows how this forest fell into such darkness, for it has been this way since anyone can remember. Some believe the Bloodwood was formed by Rosentos after he fled the Dûn Basutil, the battle in which he betrayed his fellow Larenai and sided with the dragons. As a great sorcerer, Rosentos' power, some claim, would have been ample to subdue the forest under his command and warp the land to be a sinkhole of evil. Legends say, though Rosentos is long dead, that the wizard's power lives on, for a fearsome dragon lies at the heart of the forest, a wyrm that was long ago chained to Rosentos' will, a bond that even death could not break. Few return who enter this forest, but tales tell that those who have were mad, and it would have been better if they had not returned. Such unfortunates tortured and murdered friends and family when they returned home. The power of the dragon, if indeed it does exist, rules supreme in the Bloodwood and in the minds of those who have tasted the madness and have returned to the light.
